FABRICATING TOM ZE
Documentary which tells the life story of one of the most controversial Tropicalistas (avant-garde 60s Brazilian art movement) on his European tour in 2005. Tom Zé talks about his childhood, how he went to São Paulo to integrate the Tropicalista movement there and how he was ostracized in the 70s, making a comeback in the 90s after being rediscovered by David Byrne, who found him glory in the Northern Hemisphere. The movie also includes interviews with Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, David Byrne, among others. At the age of 70, Tom Zé is still considered a vanguard musician, who produces a highly unique and original style of music.
